Portland recruit Tylar Watts will play his first TAC Cup match for Greater Western Victoria Rebels on Sunday – a fortnight after lining up in the Hampden league for the first time.
The ruckman-forward prospect was one of four inclusions for the winless Rebels’ clash with Calder Cannons.
Terang Mortlake prospect Scott Carlin returns after missing a match with a school commitments, while Hamilton Kangaroos’ Thomas Scott and Ballarat-based Naish McRoberts were also picked.
Warrnambool’s Matt Schnerring and South Warrnambool’s Mar Gattek held their spots after debuting before the Easter break.
Portland coach Luke Crane described Watts, who joined the Tigers via the Western Border league, as “a ripping kid” who loves the contest before round one.
He will share Rebel ruck duties with Lloyd Meek.
