A 64-year-old farmer unloading gravel died after an accident at a Mepunga farm on Wednesday afternoon.
Warrnambool police Sergeant Callum McKinnon said the incident happened on a dairy farm, and emergency services were called at approximately 4.30pm.
“He was unloading some gravel out of a tip truck and the tipper itself has slid and struck the cab and he’s been crushed inside the cab and died at the scene,” he said.
Ambulance, SES and CFA members attended the accident and began a rescue operation but were unable to revive the man, he said.
Investigations by both WorkSafe and Victoria Police are underway.
UPDATE: Police have confirmed a 64-year-old man has died following a truck accident at a property in Mepunga.
EARLIER: Emergency services are responding to an incident near Mepunga.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said crews were called about 4.30pm to an accident involving a truck on Childers Cove Road, Mepunga.
A man is trapped and in a critical condition, the spokesperson said.
