Former Demon Andrew Clements has returned from Melbourne and has brought Robb Jewell and James Plant – both formerly playing in Melbourne’s south-east – with him.
They’ve also gained Andrew and Nicholas Robertson from the Finley Football Club in New South Wales, while Dale Hood (Cairns Saints), Joseph Wensley (Koroit) and Daniel Smith (Newborough) have all signed up.
However, coach Mick Hunt said the club was focused simply on improving its win-loss ratio.
“We’re just looking to put our heads down, and our bums up to improve,” Hunt told The Standard.
“We’re not looking to make a lot of noise. We’ve been flying under the radar and we’re happy with that.”
Hunt was confident the influx of players would fit into the Demons’ culture.
“They’re country boys who have played lots of football and after having a conversation to them, I was very much at ease that they’d fit in well,” he said.
