The club has welcomed a host of new recruits to its fold as it strives to climb back into finals contention.
The club finished last season in 10th place, with three wins on the board. Pender has been tasked with making the club a challenger once again.
Jess Rohan has crossed from Allansford and will provide valuable class, while Ellen Hopkins has moved from Kolora-Noorat.
The Lions will also welcome former Russells Creek players in Stacy Dunkley and Nikole Sullivan.
Pender said Abby Sheehan was also shaping as an important youngster for her side.
“The girls that have come in are looking very good, they’re excited to come across for a bit of a change,” she said.
“Abby is my young gun and we’re just looking for an improvement across the board.”
Sheehan, who has two years of A grade netball under her belt, said she was beginning to feel more comfortable in the Warrnambool and District netball competition’s top grade.

Prediction
Nick Ansell says: South Rovers appear to be rejuvenated as a whole this season. They have a batch of new players and Lisa Pender is determined to see them climb back up the ladder. Good recruiting can add fresh feeling to a club and Rovers can expect to climb to mid-table this season.
