Rovers have appointed physical education teacher Adam Matheson to their hot seat, with under 17s premiership coach Peter Timms his assistant.
They will be tasked with blooding a host of talented juniors to the senior side as they look to move away from the mid-ladder mediocrity which has plagued the club for the past few seasons.
Matheson said a focus had been placed on improving defensive structures.
“We’re really upbeat with where we are at the moment,” he said.
“We’ll have some more defensive structures around the ground and hopefully we’ll be able to play an exciting brand of football.
“Hopefully we can use our speed, which I think will be a good trait of ours.”
The Warrnambool College deputy principal said the club had struggled to kick goals against the best sides in previous years.
“If you can restrict how many goals the opposition is kicking, the less you have to kick to win,” he said.
“It’s a simple philosophy.”
