THERE’S no secret Russells Creek is going to be a youthful outfit in 2017, but that doesn’t mean they can’t also enjoy some success, according to new coach Sam Dean.

The Kangaroos have promoted a number of players coming out of the 17 and under competition to their top team as the look to start moulding the nucleus of the team for the years to come.
“We’re very young and hopefully we’ll have some success,” Dean said.
“A lot of our girls are coming straight out of the under 17s, so it’s going to be a big learning curve for them.”
The coach said “middle of the the table” was a realistic aim for the Kangaroos as they use the season to learn, develop and hopefully score a few confidence-boosting wins along the way.
There will still be some experience in the team to support the next generation coming through, with a bit of a rejig on the cards.
Recruit Kristy Crawley, from Mininera and District club Woorndoo-Mortlake, and talented junior Keely Price come into the mix.
Dean said she was hoping to see her charges produce a “smart” game plan as they look to build confidence in themselves and each other.
