After sliding out of finals with a straight-sets exit last season, the Power launched a fruitful recruiting campaign.
They have scored a coup in landing Cobden onballer Sam Harkin and welcome Koroit’s Ben Walsh as an assistant coach, while a few familiar faces are also back at the club.
Past WDFNL leading goalkicker Ben Fraser will slot into a forward line that was looking for a focal point after Tim Ryan left for the Geelong Football League, while Jason Moloney is back after playing predominantly with Terang Mortlake in recent years.
“We looked at boosting our midfield, boosting our on-field leadership,” Power coach Danny Finn said.
“We just want to build on last year and where we finished. We want our leaders to step up.”
The Power were the equal top-scoring team last year, averaging 116 points for a game, and were fifth for points against, with 65 per game, but will look to dictate play out of the midfield more this season.
