Several younger players will be entrusted with roles in the senior side as the club turns its focus to the future.
However, the Cats will be hit by the loss of several senior players – primarily to clubs outside the Warrnambool and District Football Netball League – something co-coach Ben Holloway is not shying away from.
“There’s going to be a big change around the footy club in that a lot of our seasoned players have left for one reason or another,” he said.
“Brent (Membrey) and I have no illusions about the job ahead.”
Holloway said while the club would look to present chances to its young contingent, it wouldn’t gift games to players without hard work on the training track.
“There’s probably six or seven kids putting their hand up to play senior footy,” he said.
“It’s not about just gifting kids a game, because they will have to work for it.
“We are open and conscious of giving those kids a go.
“If we can give a few kids a game of senior footy here or there, it would be great.”
