The regional commission on Friday released details for the female football league’s first season, which will see eight teams compete from across the Western District.
Hampden-affiliated clubs Hamilton Kangaroos, Portland, South Warrnambool and Warrnambool will field teams, as will Warrnambool and District club Old Collegians. The remaining teams are the Horsham Saints, the Horsham Demons and Stawell Warriors.
The matches will follow standard AFL Victoria rules, however some modified match rules will be allowed. Both teams must play with the same number of players on the field, with a minimum of nine players a side required.
Matches will be played each Sunday from May 7 until June 18, with a bye on June 25 before round robin finals on July 2.
