The second-placed Meerkats have secured first innings points against fourth-ranked Yambuk after the opening day’s play of the final two-day round.
All-rounder Braden Hotker snared 2-19 and made 47 batting atop the order as the Meerkats restricted the Buks to 84 and passed the total with six wickets in hand.
The ladder-leading Bulldogs are in a commanding position against third-placed Killarney, at 1-46 in reply chasing 91. Evergreen Ken Jones claimed 5-15 to rattle the Crabs’ batsmen and give the perennial finalist the upper hand.
