History will be made with the running of a twilight race meeting at Warrnambool on Thursday. The first of eight races is to be run at 4.15pm and the last is set down for 7.45pm.

Warrnambool Racing Club officials are hopeful the day may turn into a financial windfall with on-course dining packages in demand from patrons.
Club chief executive officer Peter Downs said the dining packages in the Matilda Room were sold out and another area for members’ dining only had a few vacancies left.
“It looks like being a big meeting,” Downs said. “The twilight meeting is the initiative of Racing Victoria. It's the first time the club has started a meeting so late and finished so late in the day.
“The idea is being supported by racegoers as we've got really good bookings in our dining areas.
“I would think a lot of locals will find there way out to the course after they have finished work.”
Warrnambool trainer Peter Chow will spell his wet-track galloper Robbie’s Star after he runs in a $30,000 restricted race over 1700 metres.
“I'm not expecting anything much from Robbie’s Star,” Chow said.
“He’ll have this run and then go to the paddock for about a month. We’ll bring him back into work for the winter months. His best form is when it's really wet.”
Aggie, formerly trained in Tasmania, will have her fourth start for Chow in a $23,000 maiden over 2000 metres.
“Aggie’s owner Peter Scollard send her over here to see if she can win a race here,” Chow said.
“She was unlucky at Ararat and Terang. I think the claim for apprentice jockey Melissa Julius gives Aggie a rough chance in the race.”
Three of the eight races on the program carry stakemoney of $30,000,while the other five races have prize money of $23,000.
