Chief executive officer Michael Neoh said the awards, which cover 16 categories across five south-west municipalities, were the region’s premier sporting recognition awards.
“Whilst we have traditionally had strong nominations from women and girls, we are making a concerted effort to increase female participation both on and off the field,” he said.
Nominations for the 2016 Amazon Sports Star Awards close on April 13.
