The talented sportsman is among the state’s best junior motocross riders and although he’d love a property that’s big enough for a race track, he still loves living at Bushfield. 

What is the best thing about living in Bushfield? It’s nice and quiet.

Do you train on your property? No, it’s not big enough for a track, but I still wouldn’t want to move back to Raglan Parade.

What first got you interested in motocross? I saw it on the TV one day and I asked my dad if I could ride. He said: “You gotta be joking.” But he eventually let me have a go.

How old were you when you started riding? I started when I was nine, which is pretty late. Most kids start at three or four.

What do you love about riding bikes? I have always loved riding bikes – anything with wheels.

What is your favourite thing about the sport? It can get competitive but we’re like a big family. Like at the Aussie titles all the Victorian team helped each other, they helped with bikes and getting ready for the next race.

What is your favourite award? I came third in the Victorian State Titles in 2015.

What is your racing number? My number is 221. I like 21 but people who have been riding longer already have this number so I’ll have to wait until they give it up or retire.

What are your goals in motocross? I want to go to New Zealand to compete. There is great natural landscape there with hills and tracks that are great for riding.

Who is your idol in your sport? Chad Reed.

How do you fund your sport? I help clean the house. I don’t get paid but it helps pay Mum and Dad back.

What type of bike do you currently ride? A Kawasaki KX85

What is the furthest you have travelled to compete? Appin, NSW.

Is there anyone else in your family racing motocross? Yes, my twin sister started this year. She’s not bad. She’s getting there.

What book are you reading? The Outsiders. We’re reading it for school.

Do you have a favourite book? The Maze Runner.

Do you have any other hobbies? Football. If motocross doesn’t work out, I’d like to get into that.
