Rotary Club of Camperdown and Camperdown Court House Information Centre volunteers are running town tours, with a trip up the historic clock tower at the top of the agenda.
Rotary club member Graeme Fischer said it was hoped the tours would be popular with bus groups and would include other sites like the botanic gardens and Mount Leura and the nearby abbey. “We would really tailor it to what each group wanted to do,” he said. “There is so much to see here.”
The town’s former court house has become an important first stop for visitors, with knowledgeable volunteers and an array of local arts and crafts.
The grand old clock tower is currently undergoing some maintenance. A crane was used on Monday to help run a new earthing cable through the tower to prevent damage should lightning strike.
