Adam Greer, 36, now of Crawley Street, Warrnambool, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to handling stolen goods.
He was convicted and fined $1000.
Police said that on July 26, 2015, a burglary was committed at a rural property near the intersection of the Koroit-Woolsthorpe Road and Depot Road.
A Suzuki farm motorbike valued at $3000 was stolen.
It was ridden to a shed at Grassmere where Greer lived and stored there.
The same night there was another burglary and theft committed at a property on the Grassmere-Hexham Road at Woolsthorpe.
Two chainsaws, safety equipment and a fuel can valued at a total of $4000 were stolen and they were also stored in Greer's shed with his knowledge.
Police alleged the goods were disposed of by offenders and only one chainsaw and the fuel can were recovered.
