Warrnambool’s Oliver Lack is the envy of gamers across the globe after being one of a handful of people chosen for a VIP day to test drive the new Nintendo Switch in Melbourne on Sunday.

The six-year-old and his dad Josh were one of about 50 lucky people selected for the honour to spend two hours playing yet-to-be-released games on the new console.
The sneak peek comes almost two months before the official release on March 3.
“It’s a more like a Gameboy that you can also plug into the TV and the controllers on the sides come off, so it’s like the Wii where you’ve got the motion control,” Mr Lack said.
“It was pretty impressive.”
After a short talk, they were able to get the feel of the new console on games such as Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe before leaving with some mementos from the experience.
“Quite a few people were very jealous when they saw the Nintendo gear Oliver had,” Mr Lack said.
