The Cats downed Heytesbury comfortably on Saturday and were inspired by a classy lower order batting performance from both Todd Robertson and Lachie Barr.
Mortlake captain Todd Lamont said the two were the difference between the sides and praised their poise with the bat.
“In the last 10 overs, we needed about 50. They just picked off boundaries and it was good to see the lower order get some runs,” he said.
“We’d like to see a little more intensity in the field but other than that it’s just about doing the basics right. Bowling and batting well.”
