Cox and his family are soon set to pull up their roots and move to Melbourne, but not before one last musical adieu.
The pianist/composer/arranger will say goodbye in style with a farewell concert on Saturday at Brauer College’s Anderson Theatre from 2pm.
Cox released three CDs during his time in Warrnambool – By Request, Encore!, and I Write The Songs.
He was a regular performer around the south-west playing show tunes, classical pieces and his own compositions.
One of his own pieces sure to get an airing at Saturday’s concert will be the Farewell Warrnambool Waltz.
Cox was also a music teacher during his time in the south-west and recently helped with the running of the inaugural South West Youth Music Festival at Brauer College.
He has also performed for many musicals in orchestras, served as an official accompanist for the Warrnambool Eisteddfod, and was adjudicator for this year’s Colac Eisteddfod. He was also a regular performer at local charity events.
