The four-year-old kelpie-border collie-cross from Childers Cove recently won the title of Victoria’s highest jumper after clearing the height of an average roof top.
Leaping 2.51 metres (8.23 feet) at the Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Show, Sav entered record books as the 2016 Victorian dog high jump winner in the medium height category.
Tiah Drake, 19, is a proud owner.
“It was a wet and windy mongrel day,” Miss Drake said.
“The wet made the boards really slippery and the crowds were smaller than expected. He didn’t break his own record but it was enough to win.
“I’ve never used food as treats, I just use praise and attention. I think he just loves to jump.”
The black and white canine’s latest win follows previous titles awarded at agricultural shows in Noorat, Camperdown and Heytesbury.
