The former Warriors will return to Davidson Oval to lead the Warrnambool and District league A grade side next season – Forth, a defender, after a year coaching at Hawkesdale-Macarthur and wing attack Toleman after a three-year absence as she had two children.
“I think with the two ends it just helps bring a bit more dynamics,” Toleman said.
Forth will take on a strictly off-court role in 2017 as she works her way back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered during warm-up in the Mininera and District elimination final, while Toleman is undecided at this stage whether she will take to the court or not.
Toleman, who was part of the Warriors’ 2013 premiership, said development was a focus as the team looks to build towards a finals return.
“I was in the premiership side with Meagan – that took five years for us to build to that,” she said. “Jamie-Lee (Pickett) started it last year and we want to continue it.”
Forth has brought her sister Bec Kavanagh across from Hawkesdale-Macarthur to play in goals, while Warriors Rachel Alderson (university) and Sarah Alderson (overseas) are the only confirmed departures from the 2016 side.
“I’m very excited (about 2017) – I think Collegians has been in a bit of a rebuilding phase,” Forth said.
“We do want success, but we’ll aim for success with a lot of enjoyment.”
