The Lake Gillear-based club welcomed more than 200 competitors and 800 spectators to the track for what Swayn labelled as “biggest meeting in our history” on the weekend.
Swayn said the feeling of successfully hosting the national event was “a little surreal”.
“I couldn’t believe it. There were months of planning and a lot of upgrades to our facilities of late I think we did it really well,” he said.
“The junior numbers were fantastic. Our membership base has almost doubled in the last 12 months and we’ve got some great people doing a fantastic job.”
Swayn said the club was grateful for the support of Warrnambool businesses and individuals in the upgrade of the track, which allowed the club to host the event.
