The launch of the free, timed, five-kilometre run in Warrnambool received high-praise from participants with hundreds of registrations for the first day.
Runners of all ages and abilities navigated the track at the adventure park on the sunny spring morning.
Event coordinator Courtney White said she had been inspired when she attended her first Parkrun in Gippsland.
“I thought ‘this is incredible’,” she said.
Ms White said Parkrun was not only great for fitness and well-being but it was also a “real community event”.
“People really get together and encourage each other,” she said.
