A feature event of the school's major fundraising, Dennington's Day Out, is the Great South West Spelling Bee. Heats have already been held with the final to be staged on Saturday.
At Dennington's Day Out at the school on Sunday, the finalists will be up against their parents and teachers in a cross-generation challenge. It will be one of many activities – including rides, stalls, music and an animal petting farm.
Dennington's Day Out committee member Amy Atwell said all was in place for a successful event.
"It’s a great community event and the spelling bee has created a lot of interest," Ms Atwell said.
