Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) has been established to fight fires on public land managed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).
FFMVic member Tasha Noss was on hand at the Warrnambool Show to help raise awareness of what role the group plays.
The FFMVic display was alongside that of the Hamilton CFA, a placement that was done by design.
“We will be working alongside the CFA in fire situations so it was a good chance for us to be side-by-side at the show,” Ms Noss said.
“We are only a relatively new body. The show is a good community event with strong rural links.
“Given those links, we see it as the perfect place for us to spread the word about what we do.”
