Detectives Sergeant Jason von Tunk, of the Portland police crime investigation unit, said staff checked the school's answering service about 8.30am Thursday and discovered there was a message threatening to blow up the school.
"A message was left by caller who identified himself as an Arab. He was speaking with a Middle Eastern accent, he made demands and threatened to blow up the school," he said.
"The school was evacuated and Heywood police conducted a search. The school was eventually cleared and resumed normal school business about 10am."
The detective said investigations tracked down three offenders, boys aged 14 and 15 years old fom Corio, Lara and Heywood.
"All three were arrested and will be interviewed over bomb hoax offences," Detective Sergeant von Tunk said.
"These are serious offences. This incident cause an evacuation, emergency services were called in and if there were any injuries during the incident that would have just compound the seriousness of the offending."
Detective Sergeant von Tunk said the incident was prompted after the boys decided they were not keen to attend school on Thursday.
