A COLAC man is expected to be charged with assault-related offending despite cutting himself to the neck with a broken bottle on Saturday night.

Colac police said a 32-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were involved in an incident on Saturday night.
They were drinking alcohol together at a Woods Street address, they argued and one man has hit the other over the head with a bottle.
They then got into a scuffle and both sustained cuts and abrasions.
The older man has almost had a finger severed.
During the scuffle the man with the bottle has drawn it back to continue the altercation and struck himself to the neck.
The younger man went to Colac hospital for treatment and was later released.
The older man went to a Geelong hospital where he underwent surgery to a finger.
It is understood both men were under the influence of alcohol.
Police investigations are continuing, charges are expected to be laid and anyone with information is requested to contact the Colac police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
