The popular family-friendly event has been running at the town’s miniature railway and mini-golf park for about 20 years.
Rotary Club of Cobden president Paul Wagner said at this stage the South Western Model Engineers would still run the miniature trains this year, but the carnival and fireworks display would not go ahead.
“It doesn’t mean it won’t come back. People should watch this space,” Mr Wagner said.
Mr Wagner blamed the Rotary club’s declining membership for the move.
“We don’t have enough people to make it happen,” he said.
“We’ve got a very small membership at the moment. We’ve got to rebuild our club.”
Mr Wagner said the club had 15 members. It has lost about 10 members over the past two years.
