SES incident controller Ray Jasper said the Hopkins and Merri rivers and Mount Emu Creek and Russells Creek would all rise later this week.
“There will be high flows but certainly not to flood levels,” Mr Jasper said.
“We want to get the message out there for people to be aware of these increased water levels.
“We know a lot of people go walking alongside the rivers and Russells Creek.”
Mr Jasper said on current rainfall predictions, Russells Creek levees that are in place will ensure there is no flooding of nearby properties.
While Warrnambool has not had the volume of rain of places such as Casterton and Coleraine, it has had big enough downpours to cause minor flooding in low-lying areas. The biggest rainfall days in the last week in Warrnambool came last Friday when 30.6 mm was recorded in the city. That was followed by 25.6 on Saturday.
