Heavy rain is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, with widespread rain of between 20-30 millimetres and up to 50-100 millimetres in isolated areas.
Hamilton incident control centre spokesman Peter Wall said the rain was expected to last from Monday evening through to Thursday when it would ease.
Casterton and Coleraine could again be hit by flooding on Wednesday and Thursday, following on the inundation that covered some sections of the towns on Friday and Sunday. “It depends on where the rain falls,” Mr Wall said.
The SES has again sandbagged some sections of the two towns in preparation for further floods.
The SES will this week set up divisional command centres in Warrnambool, Coleraine, Casterton and Heywood to add to the incident control centre that has operated at Hamilton since the floods started.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Stuart Coombs said the rain events this week and last Thursday and Friday were expected to deliver a month-and-a-half's worth of rain. Another rain event is forecast for this weekend.
Two homes and three businesses were hit by flooding in Casterton on the weekend when the Glenelg River burst its banks.
Nearly 20 homes and businesses in and around Coleraine’s main street were inundated on Friday after a flash flood in Bryan Creek.
