A 26-YEAR-OLD woman has died after crossing onto the wrong side of the road and running into a B-double truck north-west of Portland.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision which happened on Portland-Nelson Road at Gorae West, between Holmes and Maccuspies Road’s, just before 9pm Tuesday.
The Portland woman was driving a small Ford sedan west when police say she veered onto wrong side of the road and into the path of a B double travelling east.
The woman died instantly.
The truck careered into trees on the side of the road.
The truck driver was taken to Portland hospital with minor injuries.
Nelson Road remains open but the truck and trailers are expected to be removed from the accident scene during Wednesday morning.
Victoria Police major collision investigation unit and the heavy vehicle unit were notified but are not attending the accident scene.
Portland police will prepare a report for the coroner.
