The EKB Fitness and Aerobics squad made the finals in the Federation of International Sports and Fitness Aerobics’ junior fitness category.
The final was to be held at 1.30am today.
Accelerate coach Emma Bellman said her team sat eighth after the preliminary rounds.
“They did a nice routine but nerves were certainly visible,” she said.
Needing to finish seventh after the semi-finals to make the finals cut, Bellman said Accelerate moved up a spot, earning its finals chance.
“They have made their goal of getting into finals,” she said.
Bellman teamed with Kayla Bamford and Emma O’Keeffe in the trio senior fitness section. They finished sixth in their preliminary round to book a semi-final spot.
Naringal’s Brenton Andreoli progressed through to the semi-finals in the senior individual solo and and senior trio. He was fifth in his singles preliminary round and third in the trio preliminary round.
The semi-finals and finals were held last night.
