Data released on Friday shows while all services were delivered, only 77.2 per cent arrived on time, a fall on the May figure of 85.0.
V/Line’s punctuality target is 92 per cent. On long distance services it is measured on time to 10 minutes 59 seconds.
South West Coast MP Roma Britnell said it was like taking one step forward and two steps back when it came to the south-west’s rail service.
“When it looks like things might improve, the next month’s data says otherwise,” Mrs Britnell said.
“Not only are we being forced to put up with rattling old carriages that are freezing in winter and hot in summer, we also have to sit in them for longer than needed.
“It’s not good enough; something needs to be done to improve the service.
“We deserve better than this.”
