The I Love Liebig Market Day encouraged shoppers to patronise Liebig Street stores.
Baby Bird Boutique and Kids Cafe owner Hannah Moloney said shoppers made the most of 30 per cent off and free milkshakes for children.
“Sales are up compared to a normal Friday definitely and considering the weather we would have been dead otherwise,” Mrs Moloney said. “Anything to get people in the door is helpful.”
Style Active by Chloe employee Aylish Auchettl said customers made the most of specials and their sales were also up.
Gateway Jewellers owner Brian Kelson said the store’s 50 per cent off sale drew shoppers in.
“It is a special piece so you’ve got to give them a good enough reason to actually open that wallet and come out in weather like this,” he said. “All in all I think it’s been very good.”
