A day of fun and fitness was delivered by the student leadership team with special guests speaking on the importance of diet, physical fitness and mental health.
Parent Lisa Lathwell said it was a wonderful initiative.
“The kids have organised it all,” she said. “From the activities in the yard to the speakers coming in.”
Teacher Carmel Noonan said she was extremely proud of her students.
“It’s been fantastic and they’ve done a great job,” she said. “They’ve really taken on the challenge.”
Leaders from the Student Representative Council and fellow classmates spent six months planning and promoting the event, held on Monday, June 20.
The kids were inspired after attending the Student Leaders Congress at Deakin in February and will present the results from their initiative later in the year.
