While unsure of his exact career path, the 14-year-old King’s College student knows his future will include public speaking and speech writing.
He is preparing to compete in his very first Rostram Voice of Youth national final in Melbourne this weekend and he admits he won’t let nerves get the better of him.
“I always go up (to the stage) nervous, my legs always shake but I try to use that to my advantage,” he said.
His teachers encouraged him to participate in the competition and he won the regional event in May. He is now preparing a six-minute speech to present at the national junior final on Sunday.
He will compete against six other competitors in the 11 to 15 year-old age group.
