He rode Angelology to defeat Wells and Zatagilo in the $125,000 Australian Steeplechase at Sandown, following on from his the Warrnambool Brierly Steeplechase win on Valediction.
Saturday's victory was McLean's second Australian Steeplechase win.
He won the race on Maythehorsebemagic for his brother Jarrod in 2013.
McLean allowed the Patrick Payne-trained Angelology to find his feet in the early and middle stages of the race before hitting the lead over the last fence.
"Angelology switched off mid-race," he said.
"He mixed up a couple of jumps, but once he found his feet he was too too strong.
“Patrick was genius in the saddle and he certainly is as a trainer as well."
