People who sign up to the challenge will help reach the collective target by completing burpees – a full body exercise also known as a squat thrust.
The inaugural June event has been set up by Warrnambool 24/7 Fitness gym.
Funds raised through the $5 entry fee will support three causes, including one for Elsie Mitchell, a Warrnambool toddler being treated for leukemia who was featured in The Standard last month.
The gym will donate an extra $500 to each charity, including the mentoring group Standing Tall and the autism group I Can.
“We thought it would be something good to do for the community,” the gym’s co-owner Katie Roe said.
