Strong sprinter One For Me bounced from box four, was able to find the front early and that was almost the end of the classic as a contest.
One For Me went on to win by 4.75 lengths from the talented Cactus Jack with Connemara Black another 1.75 lengths away third in a winning time of 24.99 seconds..
Langton said it was the first time Britton had led in a classic winner after she saluted with Auf Wiedersehen (2006), Lynlea’s King (2008) and Premier Event (2013).
Langton bred the winner.
She said One For Me was very strong.
“When he got to the front he was going to be very hard to beat,” she said.
Langton and Britton started with 16 greyhounds in the classic heats but had only one make the final – that proved enough. “He’s a good city dog,” Langton said.
