More than 800 feet will stomp to refill the historic swamp at the inaugural event.
The Swamp Stomp will run from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, May 1, and residents from the south-west and beyond are invited to attend.
Attractions will include a gumboot toss, gumboot decorating competition, soil painting, mobile zoo, kids water play and live music.
Word of the event has spread across the country with event organisers receiving interest from as far afield as Darwin.
Event co-organiser Naomi Turner said there was much of the country suffering from drought.
“Although it is a bit of a novelty event, rain is obviously a very hot topic of conversation,” she said.
“The traditional Autumn break marks the start of the farming cycle and we think it’s worth celebrating – even in this crazy sort of way.”
The event hopes to stomp up a whole La Nina weather pattern for farmers across the country and to break the Guinness World Record currently held my Ireland.
