Police are seeking witnesses to the three-vehicle collision near Terang on Sunday.
Senior Constable Natalie Jorgensen of Terang police said officers were especially keen to speak to the driver of a white car that was travelling in front of two of the vehicles involved in the crash.
Senior Constable Jorgensen said accident occurred at an overtaking lane west of Terang.
“We’re unsure who’s at fault,” she said.
“(It involved) a car and a truck who were westbound and a car heading east.
“The car (heading west was) in front of the truck and both moved into the overtaking lane (to overtake a white car) resulting in the car and the truck colliding and the car losing control and crashing into the oncoming car.
“We’re appealing for witnesses, especially the driver of the white car in front of the car and truck (in the accident).”
She said the two occupants of the westbound car were taken to hospital.
The truck driver was uninjured and the truck suffered minimal damage.
“It’s extremely lucky that no one was killed,” Senior Constable Jorgensen said.
“Both cars were fairly new cars so they’ve got good safety features in them.
“We were all very surprised everyone got off as well as they did.”
The Princes Highway was re-opened to traffic at 2.50pm.
Witnesses are urged to contact Terang police on 5592 1058.
