Warrnambool police Sergeant Cameron Ross said it appeared a vehicle had been stolen in Warrnambool's Allan Street which may have been used in a ram raid at Rafferty's Hotel.
He said that vehicle was found dumped in Koroit's Commercial Road.
There has also been a break-in at the Koroit IGA supermarket. At this stage it is not known what, if anything, has been stolen.
"We're not sure if it's related but the Country Fire Authority shed at Hawkesdale has also been broken into," he said.
"A CFA vehicle was stolen. A Holden Commodore used to break into the CFA shed was set alight. It's gutted. We're not sure at this stage whether that vehicle was stolen or where it's from."
Sergeant Ross said the CFA shed had also been damaged by fire.
"At this stage we're still in the early stages of investigating. Crime scene officers are on the way and Warrnambool detective are now involved," he said.
There were also windows smashed at Emmanuel College and it is understood crimes may have been committed at St Josephs Primary School.
It is not known at this stage if those incidents were related to other crimes.
Anyone with information is requested to contact the Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
