The team of Thomas Rix (40 points), Gary Rix (33 points) and Tyren Dowell (34 points) took out the Cobden Plate on Saturday, with a score of 107 points.
On Sunday, Matt Hinkley, Brendan Murfett and Clint Worden won the men’s three-person ambrose, with a score of 12-under 60.
Match committee member Ash Couch praised the condition of the course at Cobden and said the events to date had been well contested, with about 70 people taking part in the ambrose.
“It’s been pretty good – today (Sunday) was a full field … (and) it was a great field for the veterans on last Tuesday,” he said.
Couch said competitors from across the region had made their way to Cobden to compete, while regular participants from Hamilton and even Queensland had returned once again.
He said there were still some spots for the four ball best ball event on Wednesday, as well as the tournament championship, the 27-hole event on Saturday.
The Week of Golf continues with a ladies’ four ball best ball on Monday and the ladies’ team Cobden Cup on Tuesday.
