Sites have again sold out with more than 240 exhibitors booked for the three-day event that begins at Allansford on Wednesday.
Innovations such as electric motorbikes and drones will be demonstrated and Westpac Agribusiness chief Steve Hannon will speak at 2pm on Wednesday about the latest developments in agriculture.
Among the fun activities is the Isuzu Iron Summit Challenge where people can take a ride in an Isuzu four-wheel drive up a 45-degree ramp before it tips forward under the vehicle’s weight to shoot down again.
The thrill ride will be operating during all three days of the field days.
Performing on the music stage in the food court will be south-west music scene regulars Rhys Crimmin, Mitch Crute and Kayla Dwyer.
Cooking demonstrations will be held on all three days with chef Brenton Banner from Warrnambool’s Pickled Pig tantalising the taste buds on Wednesday in the Cheeseworld marquee.
Food industry professional Jon Souter, who has developed many gourmet retail and food service products, will share his experiences on Thursday while Rod Symons will be whetting appetites on Friday.
Warrnambool Cheese and Butter cheese grader David Mellor will talk about the diverse world of cheese on all three days of the field days.
The Western District Farmers Challenge will provide an entertaining spectacle on Thursday with teams competing to complete farm-related activities such as fitting poly pipes and erecting temporary fencing as quickly as possible. The winning team goes on to compete in the Melbourne Young Farmers Challenge.
Vehicles from yesteryear will show off their style with a parade of vintage cars, tractors and trucks making their way around the field days site every morning at 10.30am.
Children will be entertained at the animal nursery and Yellow Brick Road, where under 12s can collect a gift at eight sites.
