A win to third-placed Grassmere last week has the Crabs back to fourth spot on the ladder but less than five points from Panmure in second. On day one at Panmure, the Crabs made 188, a good result given they were 5-15 at one stage.
Panmure will start day two on 0-9 and Killarney captain Brayden Buchanan is expecting a tough contest.
“Another 100 runs would have been nice,” Buchanan said.
“We will have to bowl and field well but I think our form in both those areas has been getting better each week.
“We are still a bit off having our best team on the park but we still have some good options with the ball. I think in the top four anyone can beat anyone else on their day so we would love to get a top-two spot. Any little advantage come finals could be really valuable.”
In the other round 13 game to be completed, top team Purnim is in a position of strength against Yambuk.
On day one, Yambuk was bundled out for 110. This looks well short of the mark with Purnim in red-hot form. One good sign for the Buks is they were able to grab a Purnim wicket before stumps last week to have them resume at 1-1.
