The chance to get up close to a Maremma, catch a glimpse of one the late racing legend Peter Brock’s cars and a laserstrike battlefield are just some of the activities on offer.
Committee representative Amy Atwell said old favourites such as face-painting and the ever-popular farmyard would return, along with unique new additions for the event’s third year.
“A number of free workshops will run for the kids throughout the day such as martial arts, basketball with the Seahawks, dancing and a netball skills session, which will be a lot of fun,” she said.
The event is a successful fund-raiser for St John’s Dennington Primary School and the community groups involved. Mrs Atwell said the event’s community involvement set it apart from other events.
"We are rapt to be able to provide an avenue for the community to create ties and come together to support one another,” she said.
The bowls club will provide classic Devonshire teas and the victorious Dennington football team will bring its 2015 premiership cup.
An array of pop-up shops will offer a variety of goods, from plants to baking and a range of crafts. A human-sized Oddball will also be roaming around the event and people will have a chance to have their photo taken with a Maremma.
Dennington’s Day Out will be held at St John’s Primary School on Sunday from 11am. Entry is free.
