The Brett Hunger-captained outfit has won its opening three matches to sit atop the table.
“Wins on the board early are handy so you don’t have to play catch up,” Hunger said. “There is a long way to go but it’s still a good position to be in.”
Terang notched a 17-run triumph over Cobden on Saturday.
“We started well and picked up early wickets but then they formed partnerships in the middle order,” Hunger said.
“Tim Keane came back into the attack and even though he didn’t take a wicket, he stemmed the flow and put the game back on our terms.”
Essendon footballer Jackson Merrett put in a strong all-round performance for Cobden, taking 4-34 and making 54, but it wasn’t enough to steer it to back-to-back wins.
