Players accepted an interim pay deal from the FFA so the three-day camp at the Australian Institute of Sport, which wraps up on Thursday, and the upcoming tour of China at the end of the month would go ahead.

It was the first time the Matildas have been together since they lost 1-0 to Japan in the quarter finals of the women's World Cup in Canada on June 27.

A scheduled two-game tour of the US last month was cancelled after the Matildas and the Professional Footballers Association boycotted a team camp in protest of a better wage deal from the FFA.

Matildas coach Alen Stajcic​ said the pay dispute hadn't been raised during their time together in Canberra this week.

"We're not focusing on that at all," Stajcic said. "Whatever has happened, has happened.

"According to (FFA chief executive) David Gallop yesterday, there's an agreement that's imminent, and just waiting on ratification, so we're just going off that.

"The powers that be are controlling that. We're controlling preparing for the qualifiers."

Matildas captain Lisa De Vanna broke ranks during the pay dispute when she was quoted saying she would have gone on the US tour while others, such as striker Michelle Heyman, were determined to fight for a better pay deal.

De Vanna said it was time to move forward and begin concentrating on preparing for the Olympic qualifiers.

"For six months, all of us, dedicated our heart and soul to training and doing what we did, but the bigger picture is we didn't get anything other than the pride of playing for our jersey," De Vanna said.

"We're in camp now, we're back to work, we're fighting for positions, so it's like preparing for the World Cup again.

"It's the FFA's and PFA's issue to sort out and let us do what we need to do.

"Regardless of the dispute, we haven't been around each other for three months, so emotions are a bit different.

"We have to put that behind us because it won't matter if you don't qualify for the Olympics."

The Matildas face a difficult task to qualify for their first Olympic Games since the 2004 Games in Athens.

They will play five games in 10 days in a tournament in Osaka from February 29 to March 9 next year.

The Matildas are grouped with North Korea, Japan, China, South Korea and Vietnam, with the top two punching their ticket to Rio.

"The group of death at the World Cup was tough enough but qualifying for Rio is just as tough, if not tougher," Stajcic said.

"We played a game every fourth day at the World Cup, so that proved to be pretty fatiguing.

"But with five games in 10 days, we're going to need a lot of squad fitness and a lot of depth."
