Terang Mortlake’s Lewis Taylor and Colac pair Dean Towers and Darcy Lang are among 18 footballers and two taxi drivers contesting the annual dash on the hallowed MCG turf.
Lang is bidding to keep the trophy in Geelong hands following the triumph of teammate Jordan Murdoch last year. Taylor will represent Brisbane Lions while Towers is out to win for Sydney.
Warrnambool tough nut Jordan Lewis and Colac champion Luke Hodge will feature for Hawthorn against West Coast in the main game.
The Hawks are bidding to become the sixth team in VFL/AFL history to claim a premiership three-peat.
Koroit’s Jarrod Korewha and South Warrnambool’s Hugh McCluggage will also grace the grand final stage, representing the AFL Academy against the Allies, made up of Queensland, NSW/ACT, Northern Territory and Tasmanian draft hopefuls, in a curtain raiser.
