The power outage has resulted in payouts of more than $7 million to thousands of customers, according to Telstra Country Wide south-west general manager Bill Mundy.
“In three years we've naturally processed 1000s of claims and paid in excess of $7 million in compensation claims,” he said.
“That ranges from the standard $1000 claim to more than 300 much larger claims for much larger businesses. Any business operating in the affected area that was affected by the Warrnambool exchange fire is certainly still eligible to place a claim.
“Businesses that believe they have got a claim of more than $1000 should be prepared to provide their financial details in order substantiate their claim.”
Mr Mundy said there had been a significant drop in claims over the past 12 months.
“We recognised it may take some businesses one to three years to feel the effects financially and we wanted to give them more than enough time to gather the data,” he said.
