The Penshurst farmer, photographer and author has released We Love The Farm! – a children’s picture book that she hopes will get youngsters excited about agriculture and show them where food comes from.
Launched at Sheepvention, the book is Kruger’s second, following her pictorial essay on the region’s working shearing sheds Shearing In Victoria’s Western District.
“The feedback has been fantastic,” Kruger said of her new book.
“I’ve read it to groups of kids at a couple of kindergartens … and they’ve just been absorbed by it.”
She said she had heard many people complaining there were “not enough positive images” of farming in the media and she decided to do something about it.
The book is for city and country kids and can be bought online and at south-west newsagencies and milk bars.
